An employee told officers he had reported for work at 6:30 a.m. and noticed a window to the maintenance barn had been knocked out. He did not initially notice anything missing but then found keys were missing from a cabinet and discovered a pair of bolt cutters. He said he later found most of the keys thrown on the ground by the golf carts. Several keys were missing for lawn equipment but those items would not be able to be started with only the key.
He said the biggest concern was missing keys for a John Deere 460 tractor.
Another employee arrived at 8 a.m. and found one of the Master locks on the ground, having been cut. He saw the bolt cutters near the carts and they then realized one of the carts was missing.
There was also a can of red spray paint that did not belong to them on a counter. It was collected as evidence.
Meanwhile, Oxford Twp. officers had been called about a golf cart found on Stillwell Beckett Road. Investigation determined it to be the one missing from the country club. It was processed and returned.
