Christmas in July at EnterTRAINment Junction: How to go

Guests can escape the summer heat with a visit to EnterTRAINment Junction’s Christmas in July event, which will run through Friday, July 31.

“We are going to have 90-plus degree temperatures, and it’s always 72 degrees inside the Junction. We have a winter walk-through, so it’s a winter wonderland inside,” said Bill Mefford, spokesperson for EnterTRAINment Junction.

Guests will be able to virtually visit face-to-face with Santa Claus. Santa will be available from noon to 6 p.m. daily.

There is also a “Journey to the North Pole”-themed attraction complete with a snowy winter wonderland, reindeer stables, animated elves’ workshop, along with the virtual live visit with Santa. After the visit with Santa, children can also take home their conversation on a video file.

“You go into Santa’s room, sit down on a chair, and on a big monitor in front of you, Santa appears from the North Pole. You can have a dialogue with him, and that has been extremely popular,” Mefford said.

In addition to the Christmas walk-through, a Do-It-All Admission will allow visitors to discover all of the award-winning EnterTRAINment Junction attractions, including the world’s largest indoor model train display, an interactive play area for kids, a hand-built, scale replica of Coney Island Amusement Park, the world’s largest and most complete collection of marbles, an imaginative American railroading museum, and the A-Maze-N FunHouse.

Junction Hobbies & Toys features a large collection of Thomas the Train merchandise, G-Scale, HO and N-Scale trains and accessories, dollhouses, and numerous educational and nostalgic toys. Guests will also find plenty of items on sale at the hobby and toy shop during their Christmas in July visit.

EnterTRAINment Junction is following state guidelines for mitigating the risk of exposure to coronavirus and will continue to maintain its industry-leading cleaning procedures, while adding new processes specific to COVID-19, Mefford said.

These services will include extended overnight cleaning and re-cleaning of high touch surfaces multiple times a day. Restrooms may also be shut down briefly throughout the day to allow for more-frequent cleaning. Associates will be adhering to state guidelines, including wearing masks, using hand sanitizing stations and maintaining social distancing.
