The Butler County Sheriff’s Office is planning a scary good time for all ages on Oct. 31.

Sheriff Richard Jones said the department’s annual Halloween event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Halloweeen at the sheriff’s office, 705 Hanover St. in Hamilton.

Equipment from each division, including the bomb unit, dog wardens, K-9s, mounted patrol and SWAT, will be displayed and sheriff’s office will be on hand talking to visitors and explaining operations.

Of course, there will be candy for the kids and drawings for giveaways. The event is free.

In addition, during the trick-or-treat house, extra patrols will be out in neighborhoods of registered sex offenders to assure a safe and happy Halloween. On Friday, there were 456 register sex offenders Butler County.

“This is a safe way for kids to go trick or treating and for the Sheriff’s Office to meet our great citizens of Butler County,” Jones said.
