Butler County road crews continue work after late-season storm

The snow is still flying in Butler County this morning, but the county engineer’s office is reporting the roads are in good shape.

Engineer’s office spokesman Chris Petrocy said crews started plowing the 15 county routes at 10 p.m. Tuesday night and are still traveling the county.

He said crews will stay out as long as there is a need.

Petrocy credited warmer temperatures for the smooth commute for most people.

“We keep hearing this three to five inches, four to six. I think that’s more across the western townships and northwestern, but certainly not down in the West Chester area,” he said. “Per the National Weather Service maybe that much precipitation has fallen but I don’t know that much has accumulated, just because of the warm temperatures.”

Butler County dispatchers are reporting there have been a few slide offs and a couple accidents, but “nothing terribly bad.”
