Butler County EMA team reaches Florida as Hurricane Irma churns closer

The Butler County Incident Management Team has arrived in Florida to help organize relief efforts that will be needed when monster Hurricane Irma hits this weekend.

The Emergency Management Agency left Ohio on Wednesday and arrived in Tallahassee on Thursday morning. Butler County EMA Director Matt Haverkos said

They reported for duty at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the state emergency operations center.

“The team is split assisting the logistics at the state EOC and also assisting with county EOC planning and operations support,” Haverkos said in a message to the Journal-News.
