Harlem Globetrotters visit to Middletown still on despite severe temperatures

UPDATE @ 10:50 a.m.

Two Middletown buildings are open today as warming stations because of the extreme cold weather.

The Salvation Army Safe House, 1500 Pershing Ave., and the Middletown Citadel Salvation Army, 1914 First Ave., will be open and warm meals will be served.

These stations are available for day shelter only. Transportation to Serving Homeless Alternate Lodging Of Middletown (SHALOM) will be provided if necessary at 4 p.m.

The Harlem Globetrotters game tonight at Wade E. Miller Gym on the Middletown High School campus is still on, district officials said. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the game tips at 7 p.m.

A few hundred general admission tickets are available and will be sold at the door, said Aaron Zupka, MHS athletic director. Tickets are $27.
