Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily

Business has been brisk since Monday when as the new Culver’s restaurant opened on Ohio 63 in Monroe at the entrance of the Cincinnati Premium Outlets mall.

“We didn’t do a whole lot of advertising but we’re starting to get busier each day,” said co-owner Bryan Zastrow. “We’re seeing the product of good word of mouth.”

The new $3 million restaurant that features ButterBurgers, frozen custard and cheese curds, was busy as the lunch rush was starting early Wednesday. Zastrow said he and his crew are waiting to see how things go on its first weekend of operation when the local flea markets are open along with the traffic heading to the outlet mall and Miami Valley Gaming.

“We’re really interested and excited to see what happens this weekend,” he said.

So far, the big sellers are the Culver’s bacon double-cheeseburger deluxe; its Concrete Mixer, which is fresh frozen custard with a choice of toppings; and cheese curds, which are fried white and yellow breaded cheese.

Monday will be the restaurant’s grand opening as Zastrow and fellow co-owner Rodney Dent will welcome Craig Culver, the co-founder of the Culver’s restaurant chain.

“It’s exciting to have Craig here on Monday,” Zastrow said. “He’s going to love the community.”

Zastrow and Dent are also the owners of the Culver’s restaurant on Tylersville Road in Mason. The daily operating hours at the Monroe location will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“If this is as successful as we think it’s going to be, you’ll be seeing more Culver’s opening up in the area,” Zastrow said.

The ever-expanding franchise system now numbers more than 550 family-owned and operated restaurants in 22 states.
