Acid spill closes OH-4 in Fairfield

Ohio 4 was closed in Fairfield Thursday afternoon after hydrochloric acid was spilled, according to Fairfield police.

Fairfield police said that the chemical spill was reported at 4:30 p.m.

On social media, police said that the road was closed in both directions between Ross Road and Seward Road as emergency personnel and hazmat crews worked to clean up the spill.

No injuries were reported, police said, and the road was reopened around 6 p.m.
