You can take free online art classes from award-winning children’s book author

Given our new circumstances, The Kennedy Center Education Artist-in-Residence is now offering free lunchtime art classes from his home studio. Mo Willems invites you to virtually visit with him at 1p.m. weekdays for Lunch Doodles, which take “in residence” to a whole new level.

Willems is an award-winning children’s book author and artist who is best known for creating the animated television series Sheep in the Big City for Cartoon Network as well as working on Sesame StreetThe Muppets, and The Off-Beats

“Grab some paper and pencils, pens, or crayons. We are going to doodle together. You might be isolated, but you’re not alone. You are an art maker. Let’s make some together,” Willems announced.

Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing for the next few weeks via the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. New episodes will be posted each weekday at 1 p.m. and then remain online to be streamed afterward.
