The Dayton bouncer credited with saving lives during the Oregon District mass shooting was named a champion by those he considers stars.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE executive vice president of talent, presented Ned Peppers’ bouncer Jeremy “Pitbull” Ganger professional wrestler for more than a decade, with a NXT Title belt and named him an honorary champion, Wednesday, Nov. 6 at WWE NXT in Orlando.

Levesque introduced Ganger as a “real hero” who saved countless lives the night of the Oregon District shooting.
Ganger entered the ring to claps and a chant of his name and later, “Thank you, Jeremy.”

“Normally we reserve things like this for Super Bowl champions or World Series champions, but you are a man whose heroism far surpasses anything that can happen on field or in this ring,” Levesque said in a video posted to the WWE on Fox Twitter page . “That is why we would like to make you an honorary NXT champion.”
Levesque praised Ganger to reporters from FOX 35 in Orlando for pulling people into his nightclub as bullets rang out just after 1 a.m. Aug. 4.
A 24-year-old Bellbrook man killed nine people and injured dozens of others with a pistol modified to act like an assault weapon.
Ganger rushed to take a semi-automatic pistol that police say was modified to act like a rifle away from Connor Betts after Betts was shot by police.
“There are certain moments in time when people have the opportunity to rise above the everyday events and become a hero,” Levesque told FOX 35.
Ganger told the station that he had the opportunity to meet several wrestling superstars at the WWE Performance Center.
“It is unbelievable,” he said.
