Joshua S. Ladner, the co-owner of Salon J Ladner at 45 S. St. Clair St. in downtown Dayton, worked on the post-apocalyptic, tribalistic  video for Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love.”

Ladner said he is limited in what he can say about the experience due to the contract he signed.

“But that being said, I was a key hairstylist for ‘Stupid Love.’ I worked on the blue and green tribe creating wigs and color and styles,” he said. “I am blown away.”

Ladner, who opened his Dayton business in 2013 with his husband, Vince Ladner, moved to Los Angeles eight months ago.

He is an Oligo Professionals Brand ambassador and an independent educator and stylist at Larisa Love Salon.

He landed the job for Lady Gaga’s video through his relationship with Joico Hair Products.

Frederic Aspiras, Lady Gaga’s hairstylist, works with the company as well, he said.

Ladner said moving to LA has allowed him to explore the possibilities where the magic happens.

“It’s the heartbeat of the entertainment industry,” he said. “I have always wanted to explore this side of the beauty industry and it’s all coming true. Putting everything on the line, trusting my foundation as a hair stylist and just giving it all I got. Asking for opportunities and showing up with love and hard-working dedication for my craft.”
