MUST-TRY BEERS
According to Jared Bowers, the social media and contact coordinator at Jungle Jim's, the event on Saturday will offer several must-try beers, starting with 50 West's King of the Jung-Ale IPA, a crisp, subtle-hop pineapple IPA that will actually be getting its very first pour at the Bash.
Other guests of honor include Burliner Weisse, a mildly tart weisse from Jackie O's Pub & Brewery (Athens), the 9021 Gose, a kettle sour gose from Platform Beer Company (Cleveland) and the Woltermelon Blonde, a blonde ale infused with a watermelon taste (it is named for fallen Hamilton firefighter, Patrick Wolterman, who enjoyed watermelon-flavored beers) from Municipal Brew Works (Hamilton).

Bowers also pointed out this will be your last chance to sample Entropic Theory IPA, a tropical IPA featuring orange, peach and apricot flavors from MadTree Brewing Company (Cincinnati).

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Bowers promised ample parking outside the Snake House at Jungle Jim’s. Once you check in at the desk under the huge entrance sign, there will be plenty of signs and directional information telling you where to go to find the beers you want to try.
Brewers and experts will also be on hand to give advice and information. Live music and food trucks will round out an event that is basically a simple craft beer party.
“Whether you’re interested in one particular beer of if you just want to ‘geek out,’ there’ll be plenty of people to do that with in a smaller, more intimate setting,” Bowers said. “The whole concept is ‘drink local.’ Ohio breweries are second to none. We’ll put them up against any of the national big boys.
“We’re hoping to double our attendance from last year (350). Last year, we weren’t sure how things were going to go. Pre-sale tickets weren’t going as expected. Because it’s an outdoor event, people apparently waited until the last minute to see what the weather was going to do. But we knew we had something as soon as the doors opened.”
