Underestimating 'this whole mommy thing,' Cardi B cancels tour with Bruno Mars

New mom Cardi B isn't ready to hit the road just yet.

On Thursday, a couple weeks after giving birth to baby Kulture, the 25-year-old performer apologized to fans for deciding to skip the 24K Magic World Tour she had planned to join Bruno Mars for in September.

"I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I'd be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing," she wrote on Twitter.

Cardi had her baby on July 10. While pregnant, she performed up until April 25 when she announced it would be her last show "for a while." She had thought she'd return to the stage with Mars.

"Not only am I just not ready physically, I'm not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it's not healthy for her to be on the road," she said in her tweet. "Thank you Bruno for being so supportive and understanding."

Bruno Mars also posted a message on Twitter to Cardi about her decision to leave the tour.

"Most important thing is you and your family's health. I know the fans will understand," he wrote Cardi. "I also know we'll share the stage when the time is right. We love you Cardi and we will play Bodak Yellow every night in your honor."
