Online registration is now open for the 7th annual Healthy Kids’ Triathlon to be held at Countryside YMCA on Aug. 19 at 8:30 a.m. Area youth will swim, bike and run a marked course to the finish line.

“The Healthy Kids’ Triathlon gives the youth and families of our community an opportunity to grow closer together encouraging good health and fostering connections through fitness, sports, and fun,” said Countryside YMCA Aquatics Director Holly Colón.

  • Ages 6-8 will swim 50 meters, bike a 5K, and run a 1K.
  • Ages 9-11 will swim 100 meters, bike 7K and run a 1.5K.
  • Ages 12-14 will swim 150 meters, bike a 10K, and run a 2.5K.

All swims will take place in the Countryside YMCA’s outdoor pool. The bike rides will take place on the Countryside/Lebanon Bike Trail and the cross country running route is on Countryside YMCA outdoor fields and the Hewitt P. Mulford Nature Trail.

Registration and check in start at 7:30 a.m. on race day, and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. The $30 entrance fee covers a participant T-shirt, finisher’s medal, goody bag and admission for themselves and one adult to the Family Fun-Fest immediately following the event.

The entry fee also allows each child, if they choose, to have a parent in the pool during the swim event.

Proceeds from the Healthy Kids’ Triathlon support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which funds socially responsible programs such as the Lebanon City School Begin-to Swim Program.
