Dayton skyline, bank spotlighted in trailer for new film starring Robert Redford, Danny Glover, Casey Affleck, Sissy Spacek

If the trailer is any indication, you are going to look mighty fine on film, Dayton.

Shots filmed in Dayton — including one showing Robert Redford and Danny Glover on top of the Talbott Tower —can be seen in the newly released trailer for the "Old Man and The Gun."

Lisa Powell, a photographer for this news organization, took a photo of the actors on the building last year (see image below).

Fox Searchlight is set to release the film also starring Casey Affleck and Sissy Spacek, on Oct. 5.

The movie based on bank robber and escape artist Forrest “Woody” Tucker’s real life was filmed here last spring.

Redford plays Tucker in the film directed and written by David Lowery.

The former Liberty Savings Bank sections of Liberty Tower — an art deco high-rise at 120 W. Second St. — was also used for the film.

Parts of downtown Hamilton were also used.

A gas station and the Midway Theater in Bethel (southeast of Cincinnati) were also used in the movie.

The Dayton skyline and Liberty Tower are among the scenes seen in the trailer.

The movie was filmed in Cincinnati and parts of Dayton and Hamilton last year.

The film is based on the 2003 New Yorker article "The Old Man and the Gun" by Dan Grann.
