Jungle Jim’s combines 4 food and drink festivals into 1 mega event THIS WEEKEND

Backyard Bash will be held on Saturday.

The latest festival inaugurated by Jungle Jim’s, our longtime haven for foodies and beer and wine connoisseurs, is devoted to outdoor cooking.

With more than 200 products from 40 vendors, there’ll be plenty of diverse findings, including fruits and vegetables, chocolates, hummus, ice cream, jams and jellies, flavored kettle chips, energy drinks, and even cast iron cookware.

But the main categories of the Backyard Bash are: Bacon and Cheese, Seafood, BBQ, and Craft Beer. It breaks down like this:

Bacon and Cheese

The bacon and cheese highlights include Bertozzi Speciality Parmigiano (Italian cheeses), Cabot Creamery Cooperative (Vermont cheddar cheese), Country Archer Jerky Co. (meat sticks, bars, and jerky), Howard’s Creek Authentic Beer Cheese (Kentucky beer cheese), Red Apple Cheese (apple-smoked cheeses), and Big Fork Brands (bacon sausage, pork snack sticks).

Seafood

The seafood vendors are Captain Curt’s Clam Chowder, CenSea (shrimp, finfish, lobster), Wholey Seafood, Sierra Meat & Seafood, and Wick’s Seafood (crab cakes and shrimp).

BBQ

The BBQ highlights are Corine’s Cuisine (gourmet hot sauces), Dimply’s (dry rub seasonings for grilling), Head Country BBQ (original, chipotle, and hickory smoke BBQ sauces), The Smoking Goose (smoked meats and sausages), Country Bob’s (apple chipotle, honey habanero, and BBQ sauces), Historic BBQ (smoked pulled pork, briskets, ribs), and Skip Kenny BBQ (whiskey BBQ sauces).

Alcohol

With a general admission ticket, you can purchase beer, wine and cocktails from any of the Oscar Event center bars. The beers in the Craft Beer Garden are for VIPs only. With a commemorative pint glass, five sample tickets, and five pint tickets, VIPs will sample offerings by the following regional craft breweries: Mt. Carmel, Rivertown, Rhinegeist, Brew Dog, Urban Artifact, Fifty West, Municipal Brew Works, Taft’s Ale House, MadTree, and North High.
