“The goal of the show is to raise money as a gift for Hope House. They always appreciate the donation we make. The goal would be about $5,000,” he said.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with an acoustic performance. The evening’s featured lineup will include Gregg Clark with James Higgins and special guest James Clark, Jimmy D. Rogers Blues Band, The Beaumonts, The Rick House Band, Chuck Evans and other special guests throughout the evening. Support will be provided by Riverdog Pro Sound.
The music is always a highlight of the night, Evans said. A lot of musicians have been involved every year, including the sound and lighting crews. It’s one of the best events of the year in Middletown.
“Myself, Gregg and the musicians that perform at this event support the Hope House and what they do. We think it’s an important institution in our City, and we want to help them out,” he said.
Gregg Clark originally started the event in 1991 to help the Hope House. This is the 25th year for the concert. For many years, the event was held at The Manchester Inn & Conference Center. It moved to the DAV Hall after The Manchester closed in 2011. This is the third year the event will be held at the Oriole’s Nest. All of the musicians volunteer their time. Over $3,000 in funds were raised for Hope House in 2015.
