Paint-your-own-pottery business to open in Hamilton

Mother-and-daughter team Lori and Erin Noga are eyeing Labor Day weekend for the opening of The Studio: Masterpieces & Memories at 118 Main St. in Hamilton, next to Ivy Salon & Gallery.

Initially, the business will offer a paint-your-own-pottery experience, Lori Noga said.

Customers choose a blank piece of pottery to paint. After firing in the kiln, it becomes “a one-of-a-kind masterpiece,” she said.

“As an educator, I have seen the role art plays in the community,” Noga said. “Art overcomes the boundaries of socio-economic status, allowing all students to stimulate their imagination no matter their background. Children learn important skills such as problem-solving, focus, and perseverance through art. As art in schools is declining, it is my hope that The Studio helps to fill this void.”

As a mother, the long-time Hamilton resident said she has “noticed a need for affordable, family-oriented activities” in the city.

“ The Studio hopes to offer this with a new and unique activity,” Noga said.

The Studio plans to eventually offer art classes and a private paint-your-own-pottery space for special occasions, like birthday celebrations, retirement parties and corporate outings, according to Noga.

“We welcome the community’s ideas on creating masterpieces and memories,” she said.
