Local company hiring 400 people for peak season

Two Butler County-based companies are offering a total of more than 400 jobs.

Cornerstone Services, which includes Frontgate, Ballard Designs, Garnet Hill, Grandin Road and Improvements, is looking to hire 400 new people for its peak season, according to Carrie Mixon, senior manager, Ops Talent Acquisition.

“Cornerstone Services offers expertise and corporate support across five cornerstone brands,” she said. “These shared services include information technology, digital commerce, customer care and distribution.”

Founded in 1991, the company is hiring for its warehouses. It has locations in West Chester Twp., Fairfield and Monroe, as well as Phoenix, Ariz.

Cornerstone, which employs 3,000 people, hires 1,000 new warehouse associates each year in its Butler County locations with the vast majority of the hiring being completed in June through November, Mixon said.

Full-time and part-time openings are available in pick/pack/ship, personalization and equipment operation.

“We are currently looking to hire 400 new people for our peak season, of which 100 are part time,” she said.

Also hiring is Amstan Logistics, a Hamilton-based third party transportation management company, employs 71 people and is looking to add two people in operations, two for inside sales and several more in outside sales "in the very near future," according to Christy Terry, manager of organizational development.

“We work closely with manufacturing and distribution companies to not only help reduce freight spend but we also provide the software and support to measure and control this expense,” said Marty Grogan, Amstan’s business development manager. “In our business, we meet with customers to determine their unmet need then design a logistics program to meet their needs and those of their vendors and customers.”

Founded in 1960 as a private fleet serving the needs of parent company American Standard, Amstan Logistics was incorporated in 1974 and continued to expand into the full service logistics company it is today, according to Ron Grosso, Amstan’s general manager.

The company’s corporate headquarters are in Hamilton with remote locations in Columbus, as well as St. Louis, Mo.

Of Amstan’s sales of $85 million dollars, approximately half are generated by service to companies other than American Standard, Terry said.

“The plan is to double this business in five years while hiring personnel needed to support this growth plans,” Grosso said.

Amstan Logistics and Cornerstone are among more than 40 companies hiring at a Cincinnati State Career Fair scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Cincinnati State Supply Chain Career Development Center, 5450 Spellmire Dr., West Chester Twp.
