With the Bengals addressing their future at tackle by taking Texas A&M's Cedric Ogbuehi in the first round, here are some of the positions they'll be looking at tonight with overall picks Nos. 53, 85 and 99.
Wide Receiver
The Bengals had hoped Miami's Phillip Dorsett would still be on the board at 53, but Indianapolis snatched him with the 29th pick in the first round.
Kansas State's Tyler Lockett could be the target tonight. He has the speed and return ability the Bengals are looking for to bolster an already solid group of receivers.
After six receivers went in the first round, some of the other top remaining options are Arizona State's Jaelen Strong, Missouri's Dorial Beckham-Green and Ohio State's Devin Smith.
Speaking of the Buckeyes, no player from the defending national champions was selected in the first round. The last defending champion to see that happen was ... the 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes.
That also segues to the next position the Bengals will be looking at tonight.......
Defensive line
Ohio State's Michael Bennett could be a good fit in the second round with the Bengals needing to infuse the interior of the line with young talent with Domata Peko aging and the lack of production from Devon Still and Brandon Thompson in their first three seasons.
Another possible target could be Oklahoma's Jordan Phillips.
And if the Bengals elect to go with a defensive end, it could be another guy with a tough to pronounce name that begins with an O: UCLA's Owamagbe Odighizuwa.
Tight end
The Bengals likely wouldn't target a tight end until the third or fourth round, but when they do another Ohio State player could be the target in Jeff Heurman.
Other possible targets are Minnesota's Maxx Williams, Miami's Clive Wolford and South Carolina's Rory "Busta" Anderson and Oklahoma's Blake Bell.
Linebacker
The Bengals seem to have more success developing the undrafted guys than they do with their picks at linebacker.
While it may be too early to evaluate last year's sixth-round, Marquis Flowers, the other linebackers they have drafted, other than Rey Maualuga (second round, 2009) have not given the team much -- Sean Porter (fourth round, 2013), Dontay Moch (third, 2011), Roderick Muckelroy (fourth, 2010), Keith Rivers (first, 2008), Angelo Craig (seventh, 2008), A.J. Nicholson (fifth, 2006), Odell Thurman (second, 2005), Caleb Miller (third, 2004), Landon Johnson (third, 2004) and Khalid Abdullah (fifth, 2003).
That's an amazing run of futility, but with questions surrounding whether Vontaze Burfict will be able to return this year and how much A.J. Hawk has left, it would seem as though the Bengals need to take another shot, possibly as early as tonight's second round.
There are a handful of guys who were thought to be possible first rounders still left, including a guy with the character-vs-talent dilemma in Nebraska's Randy Gregory. Hard to imagine him sliding to 53. Harder to image the Bengals passing on him if he does.
Other top remaining linebackers include Virginia's Eli Harold, Mississippi State's Benardick McKinney, Miami's Denzel Perryman, TCU's Paul Dawson and UCLA's Eric Kendricks.
Although Gregory and Harold are the only edge guys in that group who would best fit the Bengals' 4-3 scheme.
