Browns have their way with Bengals in first half

The Battle of Ohio can be abbreviated as B.O.O., which is exactly what the Bengals heard when they ran off the field after getting whipped by the Browns in the first half.

Cleveland forced two Bengals turnovers and got rushing touchdowns from Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell to take a 17-3 lead in the locker room.

The Browns have a 200 to 100 edge in yardage. They’ve run for 81 yards after putting up only 89 in the last two games combined.

Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton is 5 of 16 for 38 yards and a 14.6 passer rating, with many of his incompletions coming nowhere near the receivers.

Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer is 10 of 16 for 119 yards and an 85.2 rating.

Cleveland linebacker Craig Robertson intercepted Dalton on the first series of the game, returning the ball to the Cincinnati 18. Five plays later, Terrance West ran in for a 4-yard touchdown and an early 7-0 lead.

The Bengals’ lone score is a 34-yard field goal by Mike Nugent, which came after Cleveland punt returner Jim Leonhard fumbled his own 32 midway through the first quarter.

The only other time Cincinnati reached Browns territory was on their first drive of the second quarter, but Jeremy Hill lost a fumble that Joe Haden recovered at the Cleveland 28.

The Browns will get the ball to start the second half.
