When the skies are clear, head outside and look to the southwest sky. About an hour after sunset, around 6 p.m., Venus will be shining bright.
It won't twinkle like a star does, but it will set around 7 p.m., so your window isn't very big to see it each night.
On Dec. 28, the very thin crescent moon will be right next to Venus, making it easier to find.
