HS Roundup 1/31: Short-handed Legacy Christian boys beat Carlisle

Legacy Christian took down Carlisle 70-46 on Thursday, marking a 16th consecutive victory for the boys basketball squad.

Erik Uszynski finished with 17 points and Brandon Martin scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half to lead the way. Roman Newsome added 15 points and Jon Riddle 10.

Nolan Burney paced Carlisle with 14 points.

Girls Basketball

Arcanum 76, Newton 49: Kayla O’Daniel led five players in double-digit scoring for Arcanum with 14 points. Madelyn Fearon totaled 13 and Taylor Gray had her 11th double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Brooke Deeter led Newton with 21 points.

Bellbrook 45, Valley View 36: Mara Mescher chipped in 15 points to lead Bellbrook. Abigail Dickson paced Valley View with 12 points.

Bradford 60, Mississinawa Valley 34: Austy Miller led the way with 19 points, Bianca Keener added 12 and Emma Canan 11 for Bradford. Sidnie Hunt had 11 points for Mississinawa.

Dayton Christian 42, Middletown Christian 25: Camryn Collinsworth led DC, tallying her seventh double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Delphos SJ’s 62, New Bremen 56: Paige Gaynier scored 15 points and Melanie Koenig added 14 for DSJ. Madison Cordonnier netted 22 points for New Bremen.

Kenton Ridge 49, Bellefontaine 28: Mikala Morris totaled 23 points, Kirsten Wiley added 11 and Mallory Armentrout 10 for Kenton Ridge.

Mechanicsburg 52, West Jefferson 30: Emma Jones paced Mechanicsburg with 17 points and Grace Forrest chipped in 11.

Miami East 66, Covington 57: Morgan Haney poured in 38 points to lead Miami East. Samantha Whiteman scored 29 points for Covington.

Minster 52, Versailles 30: Courtney Prenger tallied 27 points and Ivy Wolf added 12 for Minster in a matchup of state-ranked squads.

Northwestern 40, Urbana 27: Miranda Gillman paced Northwestern with 14 points.

Springboro 65, Miamisburg 43: Kirah Pringle scored 16 points in a losing effort for Miamisburg.

Tri-Village 88, Twin Valley South 26: Emma Printz recorded 25 points and Maddie Downing tacked on 20 to help Tri-Village secure a Cross County Conference title. Twin Valley South was led by Taylor Bowers with 11 points.

Wayne 70, Beavercreek 32: Dayton Flyer commit Destiny Bohanon passed the 1,000 career point mark for Wayne.

Waynesville 78, Milton-Union 37: Rachel Murray scored 26 points, Marcella Sizer had 22 including the 1,000th of her career and Lynzie Hartshorn set a school record for steals in a game with 11 to lead unbeaten Waynesville.

West Liberty-Salem 64, Triad 28: Kelsey Day scored 20 points, Gabby Hollar added 16 and Selena Weaver 11 to help WLS move to 13-0 in conference play.
