HS Roundup 2/6: Miamisburg boys edge out Centerville

The Miamisburg boys basketball team edged out GWOC rival Centerville, 60-52.

The Vikings outscored Centerville 23-16 in the fourth quarter and shot for eight from the free throw line to secure the victory.

Jason Hubbard and Corey Hartman each netted 16 points for Miamisburg. Brett Hensley tacked on 13.

Ryan Marchal led all scorers with 18 points in the Centerville loss.

The win moves Miamisburg to 15-4 overall and 5-4 in conference, increasing its lead for the National West division title.

Centerville drops to 11-8 overall, 6-3 in conference play.

Boys Basketball

Beavercreek 59, Western Hills 38: Jaymie Johnson led all scorers with 14 points in the ‘Creek win. Jon Alessandro tacked on 12 and Brandon Zink 11.

Butler 74, Versailles 69: Kort Justice netted 25 points to lead Butler in its win. Justin Ahrens paced all scorers with 41, scoring over half of Versailles’ points in the night.

Miamisburg 60, Centerville 52: Jason Hubbard and Corey Hartman co-led in the win with 16 points apiece. Ryan Marchal countered with 18 points for Centerville.

Piqua 61, Xenia 55: Ben Schmiesing’s 22 points led all scorers in the win. Jay Evans put up 16 in the losing effort.

Hamilton 85, Sycamore 80, OT: D’Marco Howard recorded 28 points and 10 rebounds to earn the double-double in the win. Jaylen Robinson tacked on 18 points.

Lakota East 65, Mason 53: Bash Wieland scored 28 points, adding in seven rebounds in the East victory.

Middletown 58, Fairfield 44: EJ Williams netted 17 points in the Middletown victory. Peyton Brown tallied 17 points of his own in the loss.

Princeton 66, Lakota West 39: Mitch Wagner had 13 points and seven rebounds in West’s losing effort.

Ross 82, Talawanda 54: Landon Angel recorded a double-double in the Ross win, putting up 29 points and 10 rebounds. Dylan Zimmerman tacked on 22 points. Talawanda’s Evan James netted the second double-double of the night with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Bellbrook 51, Oakwood 42: Donnie Crouch netted 19 points in the Bellbrook victory. Jack Campbell tacked on 13.

Brookville 56, Franlkin 51: A.J. Denlinger had 21 points in the Brookville win. Wade Turner tacked on 15.

Carlisle 86, Dixie 76: Jonathan Shepherd led Carlisle in the win with 23 points. Justin Flor tacked on 18. Devin Worley paced all scorers with 31 points for Dixie.

Madison 40, Northridge 38: Grant Whisman paced all scorers with 23 points in the Madison victory. Twon Hines netted 14 for Northridge.

Valley View 61, Eaton 52: Isaac Manning’s 30 points fell just short in Eaton’s losing effort. Ben Herman tallied 23 to lead Valley View.

Dayton Christian 60, Jefferson 32: Matt Welker tallied a game-high 17 points, while Anton Webb tacked on a double-double, netting 13 points and 11 rebounds. Colbert Bosen led Jefferson with nine points.

Emmanuel Christian 53, Yellow Springs 36: Adonis Davis tacked 18 points onto his season total in the win. James Browning led with 18 in the losing effort.

Troy Christian 72, Miami Valley 37: James Anderson recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Ponitz 56, Belmont 53: Damonte Bailey added 17 points and eight rebounds to his season total for Ponitz. Jadon Furlow put up 14 points for Belmont.

Stivers 67, Meadowdale 53: Allen Latimore netted 21 points in the Stivers victory. Da’juan Allen tacked on 20. Jabali Leonard put up 20 to lead Meadowdale.

Fenwick 56, Monroe 44: Matt DeHart led Monroe with 14 points in the losing effort.

LaSalle 49, Chaminade Julienne 46: Jack Nauseef sunk 20 points in the CJ loss.

Greeneview 50, Greenon 41: Mason Schneider netted half of Greeneview’s points in the win, putting up 25. Cade Rice scored 10 for Greenon.

Triad 62, Mechancsburg 57: Hadley LeVan and Brinley Harlan combined for 42 of Triad’s 62 points, netting 21 each. Kam Young scored 20 for ‘Burg.

Miami East 63, Newton 27: Parker Heim, Dylan Hahn and Dalton Taynor each tallied 11 points in the win. Treg Jackson scored nine in the loss.

National Trail 61, Mississinawa Valley 46: Dalton Mason led all scorers with 20 points for NT. Ethan Bowman put up 12 points in the loss.

Twin Valley South 68, Bradford 52: Willie Bowman notched 20 points in the TVS win. Andy Branson had 21 for Bradford.

Coldwater 58, Parkway 46: Derek Albers shot for 15 points and 10 rebounds to earn the double-double for Coldwater. Jacob Wenning also had 15 points in the win.

New Knoxville 51, Botkins 30: Nathan Tinnerman scored 15 in the win. Spencer Heuker had nine for Botkins.

Girls Basketball

Milton Union 57, Twin Valley South 41: Kristen Dickison added 16 points to her season total for MU in the win. Kelsie Shafer shot for 15 in the loss.

West Carrollton 55, Meadowdale 29: Hannah Bertke paced West Carrollton with 22 points in the win. Ilea Bradfield had 17 in the losing effort.

Fort Loramie 65, Sidney 35: Marissa Meiring poured in 20 points, four rebounds and three steals in the win for FL. Alina Kindle put up 19 points in the Sidney loss.

Coldwater 52, Wapakoneta 39: Lauren Gilliland netted 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the win over Wapak. Kourtney Diller also tallied 12 points, adding on three steals of her own.

Lehman Catholic 59, Bradford 43: Riley McIver and Alanna O’Leary combined for 30 points in the win, netting 15 each. Skipp Miller recorded 22 points in the losing effort.

Spencerville 51, New Bremen 41: Paige Jones scored 11 points in the loss.

Girls Bowling

Graham 2386, West Liberty-Salem 2145: Ashlyn Parks led with games of 180 and 199 for a 379 series on the loss. Hailee Clifford tacked on a 309 series.
