Girls Tennis

SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT

Division I at Centerville: Springboro sent four players to districts. Abby Nugent of Springboro won 6-0 6-0 against Julia Bays of Beavercreek in the championship match and Dasha Dotsenko of Fairmont beat Amaya Hulbert of Springboro for third place. In doubles the ‘Boro duo of Kiley Preston/Claire Sullivan also advanced along with Centerville, Bellbrook and Beavercreek teams.

Division I at Troy: Kara Mays of Sidney beat Cierra Christner of Butler in the singles championship and Butler teammates Priya Petty and Madilynn Hager battled in the third place match. Troy, Tecumseh, Northmont and Butler each had doubles teams advance.

Division I at Lindner: Megan Hoke of Lakota East fell in the championship match but moved on to districts and the Lakota East doubles team also advanced.

Division II at Mason: Ashley Tudela of Waynesville won her third place match to advance.

Division II at Centerville: Macy Hitchcock of Eaton beat Lily McCloskey of Oakwood in the championship match. Sarah Hall of Oakwood and Grace Lampman of Alter also advanced. Oakwood, Chaminade Julienne and Eaton all sent doubles teams to districts.

Division II at Troy: Jitka Jemelkova won the singles sectional championship for Springfield Shawnee. Dakota Schroeder of Tippecanoe, Meredith Fitch of Milton-Union and Emily Marchal of Greenville also moved on to districts. Tippecanoe, Milton-Union and Northwestern each had doubles teams advance.

Football

Lehman Catholic 43, Elgin 12: R.J. Bertini passed for 292 yards with four touchdowns and Brendan O’Leary caught eight passes for 207 yards with three touchdowns to lead Lehman Catholic.

Boys Soccer

Alter 2, CHCA 0: Gavin Battaglia and Austin Brogan each netted a goal to help Alter improve to 9-2-3.

Bellbrook 3, Col. Bexley 1: Bryce Ferrin tallied a goal with two assists, Trace Terry added one goal with one assist and Reed Hepner one goal for Bellbrook.

New Knoxville 4, Indian Lake 2: Patrick Covert drove in three goals to lead New Knoxville.

West Liberty-Salem 1, Northwestern 0: Lance Baldwin knocked in the lone goal off an Ian Wolfe assist and keeper Logan Saylor tallied five saves and the shutout for WLS.

Girls Soccer

Coldwater 2, Celina 1: Janelle Halterman and Mallory Kramer scoared a goal apiece for Coldwater.

Lehman Catholic 1, Summit Country Day 0: Lindsey Magoteaux booted in the lone goal off an Ava Behr assist.

Girls Volleyball

Fort Loramie 3, Graham 0: Maya Maurer scored 30 assists, Mckenzie Hoelscher 15 kills and Macy Imwalle 12 digs for Fort Loramie.

Miami Trace 3, Greeneview 0: Elizabeth Reicey chipped in 10 kills, Sadie Trisel 20 assists and Amanda Mickle 15 digs in the loss for Greeneview.

Cross Country

Anna Invitational: Cole Cronk finished second to help lead the Lakota West boys to victory. Takumi Ford of Bellbrook placed first. Brookville won the girls race.

Ed Leas Fall Classic: The Eaton boys finished second, paced by Alex McCarty’s third-place finish. Talawanda won the girls race with Hannah Lippincott placing second.

Norwood Invitational: The Fenwick boys and girls teams each finished first. Derek Boland placed second and Luke Lococo third for the boys and Jaina Hellmann won the girls race.

William Saxbe Invitational: Joel Krebehenne placed first and Jacob Willis second to lead the North Union boys to a win.

Xenia Christian Invitational: Robert Ventura finished second to lead the Troy Christian boys to a second-place finish. Yellow Springs won on the girls side, with Gracie Glaser of Troy Christian winning the race.
