Ringo’s 3-pointer lifts Miami to double-overtime win

Darrian Ringo sank a 3-pointer with three seconds remaining and Miami beat Western Illinois 76-73 in double overtime on Saturday night.

Logan McLane made a layup in the second overtime that gave the RedHawks a 69-68 edge with 3:11 to go. They never trailed after that and Ringo’s 3 sealed the win.

In the first OT, the Leathernecks (5-2) led 66-64 with 17 seconds left when Jalen Adaway was fouled and made both of his free throws to tie it. Nike Sibande missed a 3-pointer as time expired, sending the game to a second overtime.

Western Illinois went up 57-54 with 29 seconds left in regulation and Sibande replied with a 3-pointer to tie the game at 57, forcing the first overtime.

Logan McLane led Miami with 17 points and nine rebounds. Sibande added 16 points and five rebounds. Ringo had 11 points and six assists.

Dalan Ancrum hit six 3-pointers and led the Leathernecks with 22 points.

Miami stays on the road to face Missouri on Tuesday night.
