HS Results 12/7: Mechanicsburg girls top Northeastern

It was a night of sisterly love as Mechanicsburg took on Northeastern, besting them 79-45.

The duo of Kacey and Elly Schipfer combined for 46 points, 14 rebounds, 13 steals and 11 assists.

Mechanicsburg also managed a 44-7 run to turn a two point deficit at halftime into a 34 point lead by the game’s end.

Kacey Schipfer recorded a career high with 31 points, tacking on eight rebound, eight assists and seven steals.

Elly Schipfer totaled for 15 points, six rebounds, six steals, three assists and three blocked shots.

Hayley Suchland led Northeastern, scoring 31 of their 45 points herself, shooting for 73% from the free throw line.

Girls Basketball

Bethel 44, Bradford 32: Skipp Miller put up nine points in the loss. Emma Canon tacked on eight more points, managing four rebounds and one steal for Bradford.

Carlisle 55, Cincinnati Christian 43: Chrisa Harris had 23 points and two 3-pointers in the win.

Covington 34, Arcanum 32: Samantha Whiteman’s 19 points made all the difference in Covington’s two point victory. Kayla O’Daniel tallied 12 in the loss.

Dunbar 64, Meadowdale 11: Aria Cole scoed 16 points for Dunbar in their win. Jalynne Smith tallied nearly half of Meadowdale’s points, earning five on the night.

Franklin Monroe 61, Ansonia 37: Belle Cable led overall with 16 points for FM, while Audrey Cable had a good all around night, amassing eight points, seven steals and five rebounds. Bailey Stammen tallied 13 for Ansonia.

Greeneview 83, Madison plains 15: Sylvie Sonneman and Faith Strickle each scored 19 points to co-lead Greeneview.

Legacy Christian 64, Dayton Christian 18: Emily Riddle tallied 25 points to lead LC. Kathleen Archer tacked on 13 in the win.

Mechanicsburg 79, Northeastern 45: Kasey Schipfer and Hayley Suchland each netted 31 points to lead their teams. Schipfer led Mechanicsburg to a win, while Hayley Suchland led in the losing effort.

Miami East 80, Twin Valley South 21: Haley Howard led all around offensively, netting 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bailey Miller followed close behind, scoring 15 points, nine of which came off three point shots. Mylan Crews and Kelsie Shafa each had eight points in the loss.

New Bremen 48, St. Henry 36: Paige Jones netted 15 points in the NB win. Kelly Naylor followed behind with eight Allison Siefring scored 11 in the loss, while Alyssa Busscher added on eight.

Newton 52, Milton Union 26: Tatum McBribe scored 17 in the win. Beyonce Bobbitt shot for 7 points in the loss.

Triad 45, West Jefferson 21: Tori Thomas amassed 13 points in the win.

Tri Village 99, Mississinawa Valley 23: Liss Siler, Maddie Downing and Trisa Porter all tallied in the double digits, scoring 22 points, 18 points and 15 points respectively in their win. Bailey Johnson netted eight to lead MV.

Wapakoneta 61, St. Marys 54: Syd Cisco’s 16 points just weren’t quite enough to give St. Marys the edge as they lost. Alexis Jacobs and Makenzie Wilson scored 21 points and 15 points respectively.

Waynesville 57, Franklin 56: Rachel Murray and Aubrey Rains both tallied 19 points to lead Waynesville. Layne Ferrell netted 23 on the night, but it wasn’t quite enough to give Franklin the W.

West Liberty-Salem 50, Fairbanks 28: Kelsey Day scored 16 points to help WLS to victory. Audrey Brackenridge tallied 11 in the loss.

Boys Bowling

Carroll 2413, Badin 2390: Jacob Schoening led overall with a 426 series for Carroll. Jared Berger rolled a 407 series to lead Badin.

Miamisburg 2172, Franklin 2092: Evan Miller rolled games of 211 and 190 to lead Miamisburg with a 401 series. The team added two addition baker games of 223 and 187.

Girls Bowling

Miamisburg 2248, Franklin 1623: Brittney Sheehan rolled a 246 and 225 to lead Miamisburg with a 471 series. Bailey Cook bowled a 179 and 233 to chip in a 412.
