HS Results for 3/16: Marion Local advances to regional final

In a hard fought Division IV regional semi-final game, Marion Local emerged victorious, defeating Edison 54-44.

The game got off to a slow start for Marion Local. They trailed by two at the end of the first quarter, and even a 15 point effort in the second could only put them ahead by two.

But a second half rally had Marion Local up by ten at the end of the third and didn’t look back from there. Marion Local won the game by that same ten point margin, 54-44.

Tyler Mescher netted 21 points in the Marion Local victory, while Ryan Thobe tacked on 14 and Nathan Bruns had 13.

James Hill scored 16 points and Bryce Otheimer added on 11 for Edison.

Marion Local will go on to face Archbold for the regional championship on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Toledo.

The winner of that game will go on to compete for the state championship in Columbus.
