H.S. Results for 4/11: Madison holds off Carlisle rally

Madison plated all five of its runs in the first inning then held on for a 5-2 win over Carlisle in baseball on Tuesday.

Reid Davis led the way, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Ethan Limon and Cam Svarda also drove in two runs apiece for Madison.

Adam Goodpaster was 2-for-3 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot for Carlisle, with Reece Human going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Baseball

Vandalia 10, Greenville 2: Damon Dues homered and doubled, Jack Mitchell finished 3-for-3 and Tyler Burley struck out seven and improved to 3-0 on the mound to lead unbeaten Vandalia.

Centerville 4, Fairmont 1: Riley Poulton clobbered a three-run home run, Daulton Miller had a RBI and Alex Firsdon struck out four in a strong outing for Centerville.

Fairborn 6, Stebbins 5: Branden Lilley knocked in the game-winning run in the eighth inning and Jacob Webb earned the win in relief for Fairborn.

Sumter (SC) 9, Springboro 3: Ethan Brickner, Hayden Combs and Luke Walker had a RBI apiece but Springboro fell in this Forest Acres Classic matchup.

Northmont 10, Xenia 2: Collin Hobert was 3-for-4 with two RBI and Dylan Guth finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored for Northmont. Logan Bilbrey paced Xenia with a pair of hits and a run scored.

Troy 5, Sidney 2: Hayden Kotwica was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored out of the leadoff spot for Troy. Cole Hoffman led Sidney, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

Tippecanoe 18, Piqua 1: Trevor Staggs homered, Justyn Eichbaum went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Aaron Hughes improved to 2-0 on the mound for Tipp.

West Carrollton 13, Trotwood-Madison 0: Taylan King and Noah Martin both went 2-for-2 with two doubles apiece to lead West Carrollton.

Ben Logan 9, Bellefontaine 2: Ben Logan pushed across six runs in the fourth inning, including a base-clearing double from Nick Brown, to take a commanding lead. Brown struck out seven over six innings to earn the win.

Tecumseh 9, Urbana 2: Hunter Hensley struck out eight in a complete game, Reid Hale went 2-for-3 with a double and Blais Hale was 2-for-2.

Indian Lake 9, Northwestern 1: Dylan Albright struck out seven over five innings and helped his cause with two RBI to lead Lake. Evan Crew had three hits for Northwestern.

Northeastern 3, West Liberty-Salem 1: Dylon Hand struck out 11 and Alex Lockwood plated a pair of runs to lead Northeastern in the rally win. Dillon Callicoat plated Chase Humphrey in the first inning for the lone run for WLS.

Tri-Village 3, National Trail 1: Christian Ricker improved to 3-0 and Jonny Wilson picked up his first save for unbeaten Tri-Village. Peyton Lane took a tough loss for Trail, allowing one earned run while going the distance on the mound.

Tri-County North 3, Newton 2: Tanner Booth was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBI as TCN jumped out to an early lead then held off a Newton rally for the win.

Franklin Monroe 3, Arcanum 2: Arcanum tied the game up in the top of the sixth but FM answered with a run in the bottom of the frame to earn the win. Cam Gostomsky was 2-for-3 with a double for Arcanum.

Twin Valley South 8, Mississinawa Valley 1: Travis Lovely plated a pair of runs and Ryan Bassler scored twice for TVS. Andrew Johns plated the lone run for Mississinawa with a 2-for-3 night.

St. Henry 7, Marion Local 6: Local took the lead in the top of the ninth off a Cole Unrast single, but St. Henry rallied with three runs in the bottom of the frame. Rylee Deitsch had the game-winning hit that scored Parker Link for the walk-off win.

Versailles 12, New Bremen 2: Kyle Subler and Kurtis Rutschilling had three hits apiece for Versailles, including a home run and three RBI for Rutchling.

Riverside 11, Lima Perry 0: Tyler Eaton doubled and drove in three runs off of three hits and Trey Long was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead Riverside.

Softball

Northmont 11, Xenia 7: Erin Mangen homered, Marissa Bardonaro tallied her third win and Hannah Seagraves and Anna Mangen had doubles to pace Northmont. Ella Johnson tallied three doubles and a home run in a losing effort for Xenia.

Miamisburg 10, Ross 3: Ashley Haas clobbered a two-run homer and Emily Kepple went 2-for-3 with a RBI for Miamisburg. Maddy Foster, Emily Poling and Ally Ivey all had doubles for Ross.

Preble Shawnee 7, Dixie 4: Mckinlee Ruppert went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a RBI in a losing effort for Dixie.

Kenton Ridge 11, Spg. Shawnee 0: Peyton Fleming finished 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBI and Carly Turner picked up her seventh win on the mound to pace Kenton Ridge.

Ben Logan 10, Bellefontaine 3: Kinzie Jones doubled and tripled and Olivia Roose had two doubles and two RBI for Bellefontaine.

Triad 10, Madison Plains 0: Abby Ehrenborg was 2-for-4 with a double and Madison Dolby finished 3-for to lead Triad.

Ansonia 6, Miami East 5: Kayla Saintignon had the game-winning hit to lead Ansonia to a walk-off win.

National Trail 4, Tri-Village 0: Elizabeth Glander struck out five in a shutout and Davlyn Werner, Kayleigh Minner and Bobbi Grimes each had a pair of hits to carry Trail. Allie Downing and Payge Malott both doubled for TV.

Fort Loramie 20, Botkins 3: Macy Imwalle and Gabriel Olberding each had two hits and two RBI for Fort Loramie.

Riverside 17, Lima Perry 6: Payton Manahan and Kristin Davidson carried Riverside, collecting multiple hits and two doubles apiece.

Boys Tennis

Springfield 5, Miamisburg 0: Aman Dhingra, Ethan Cundiff and Greg Howard-Smoot were victorious in their singles matches for Springfield.

Sidney 5, Stebbins 0: Prem Dev and Diachi Urata won their singles matches and the doubles team of Michael Ferree/Logan Searcey had a straight set victory for Sidney.

Xenia 3, Vandalia 2: Zane Cukovecki won his third singles match and Xenia swept the doubles portion to earn the win. Brandon Kreeger and Troy Luken had singles victories for Vandalia.

Troy 5, West Carrollton 0: Troy took all five of its matches in straight sets, with Shane Essick, Elijah Sadler and Andrew Magoteaux earning singles victories.

Tippecanoe 4, Trotwood-Madison 1: Tipp’s Colin Achterberg overcame Kobe Vinegar in three sets in first singles. Arthur Jones had a singles win for Tipp and Luke Hogan had a singles win for Trotwood.

Fairmont 4, Badin 1: Noah Connaughton edged Murad Nawaz in three sets for Badin’s lone victory. Jake Haas and Tyler Juhasz picked up singles wins for Fairmont.

Fenwick 5, Princeton 0: Dylan Sagan, Matt Page and Tim Erhart had dominant wins in singles for Fenwick.

Edgewood 4, Ross 1: Ross Hamey and David Winter picked up singles wins for Edgewood. Justin Bolin won in first singles for Ross.

Spg. Shawnee 3, Catholic Central 2: Daniel Detrick won his first singles match and Shawnee swept the doubles portion to take the win.

Tecumseh 5, Northwestern 0: Mitchell Foland won in straight sets in his first singles match and Michael Green and Drew Sarihan had the other singles victories for Tecumseh.

Milton Union 4, Preble Shawnee 1: Phillip Brumbaugh prevailed in a three set match versus Pierce Elliott in first singles. Nathan and Nick Brumbaugh also had singles wins for MU.

Valley View 5, Greeneview 0: Justin DeVilbiss, Chase Midkiff and Ian Barnett swept the singles matches for Valley View.

Waynesville 4, Dixie 1: Daniel Papanel and James Schneider notched singles wins for Waynesville. Mason Swigart won his second singles match for Dixie.

Miami Valley 5, Yellow Springs 0: Colton Morehart, Michael Perevozchikov and Joe Keller all grabbed singles wins for unbeaten Miami Valley.

Lehman Catholic 3, Lima Central Catholic 2: Sam Ritze took his second singles matchup and Lehman Catholic swept the doubles portion.

Boys Volleyball

Beavercreek 3, Edgewood 0: Parker Mikesch tallied 11 kills, Noah Buell tacked on 27 assists and Ricky Le had seven digs to lead ‘Creek. Phil Applegate recorded wo aces and David Testas three blocks for Edgewood.

Track & Field

Copeland Classic: The Clinton-Massie boys and girls both finished first in the meet. On the boys side Wilmington was third, Fenwick fourth and Carlisle fifth. For the girls Fenwick came in third and Wilmington fourth.

Franklin Monroe Quad Meet: Tyler Glander, Ian Miller, Josh Cook, Jesse Biser and Lane Unger all had wins to lead the National Trail boys at the meet. Franklin Monroe finished second, Bradford third and Bethel fourth.
