Prep football: Neutral sites for Fenwick, Badin, Madison, Lakota East in regional semifinals

Four teams from the Journal-News coverage area survived the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association football playoffs and have turned their focus to the regional semifinals in Week 12.

The official second-round sites were announced Sunday, with Lakota East in Division I, Fenwick and Badin in Division III, and Madison in Division V.

All games through the state semifinals will kick off at 7 p.m. Divisions I, II, III and VI will be held on Friday, while Divisions IV, V and VII will be held on Saturday.

• No. 7 seed Lakota East (8-3) vs. No. 3 seed Elder (7-4) at Dwire Field at Atrium Stadium, Mason — Lakota East is 3-2 in three postseason appearances (2012, 2014, 2018); Elder is 33-17 in 20 postseason appearances (1988, 1989, 1991, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018).

• Other semifinal: No. 4 seed Milford (9-2) vs. No. 1 seed Colerain (11-0) at St. Xavier’s Ballaban Field, Springfield Township

Division III, Region 12

• No. 5 seed Badin (8-3) vs. No. 1 seed Alter (10-1) at Cris Carter Field at Barnitz Stadium, Middletown — Badin is 23-21 in 23 postseason appearances (1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018); Alter is 41-21 in 24 postseason appearances (1983, 1984, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1996, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018).
