Ohio State football: Buckeyes QB reportedly inks $1.4 million deal

Quinn Ewers continues cashing in on decision to skip his senior year of high school to enroll at Ohio State.

The nation’s No. 1 recruit has signed a three-year deal with GT Sports Marketing that is worth $1.4 million.

The existence of the deal was first reported by The Action Network and the specific terms came from ESPN:

The contract with GT Sports Marketing is for three years and is in exchange for autographs. The deal, according to a source, was negotiated by Ewers' agents at Sportstars and Rubicon, and is Ewers' third NIL deal overall.

Ewers was a member of the 2022 recruiting class at Southlake Carroll High School in Texas, but he left school when state rules barred him from accepting money for endorsements — an opportunity that just came to college students in mid-summer.

He officially joined the Ohio State team and began practicing with the Buckeyes on Aug. 16, though he faces long odds of playing this season as redshirt freshmen C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller III and true freshman Kyle McCord had already been locked in a battle for the starting job since spring.

Stroud was named the starter for Ohio State’s opener at Minnesota, but head coach Ryan Day has not named a backup yet.

Ewers previously announced NIL deals with a drink company in Texas and a Columbus-area car dealership.
