West Side will play the Indiana champions, Silver Creek, at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament at the Grand Park Sports Complex in Westfield, Ind.

“Hamilton, we represent,” West Side coach Ken Coomer said Saturday after a title-clinching 5-4 victory against Galion. “We feel confident every time we go there. I don’t know how many times we’ve been there, but they know who we are. They’re going to be just as prepared as we are, but trust me, we’ll be prepared.”

In its last appearance in the Great Lakes Regional in 2017, Hamilton won its first two games before losing to the Illinois and Michigan champions. Grosse Point Woods-Shores (Mich.) won the last two Great Lakes championships.

The Great Lakes champion will play in the Little League World Series, which takes place Aug. 15-25 in Williamsport, Pa.
