Abby Prohaska’s sophomore season is on hold at Notre Dame.

The former Lakota West basketball star announced Monday she is out indefinitely as she deals with a bilateral pulmonary embolism.

“In other words, I have a blood clot in each of my lungs,” she wrote in a message posted on social media. “The amount of time I will be out is indefinite, but I will be right alongside this team for every game I cannot play.”

A 5-foot-10 guard from Liberty Township, Prohaska played in 38 of 39 games for the Fighting Irish last season.

She started three games and averaged 1.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game as a freshman and led the team in charges taken.

She is the Firebirds all-time leader in assists.

“I am thankful for the endless support and love from my family, my teammates, my coaches and my friends. This is just a bump in the road.”

“God’s got me.”
