Ohio State quarterbacks have won two Big Ten football awards in as many weeks.
The conference announced Monday morning Tate Martell is the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week after his performance in a win over Rutgers.
Martell completed 10 of 10 passes for 121 yards, establishing a school record for completion percentage, as the Buckeyes crushed the Scarlet Knights 52-3 on Saturday.
Playing in relief of starter Dwayne Haskins, Martell threw for a touchdown and ran for another, finishing the day with a team-high 95 yards on the ground.
Haskins was the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after completing 22 of 30 passes for 313 yards and five touchdowns in a season-opening win over Oregon State on Sept. 1.
Ohio State hits the road this week to take on No. 15 TCU in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday night.
