No. 2 Penn State stunned the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes with a 97-yard kickoff return touchdown by Saquon Barkley to open the game and built a 28-17 halftime lead Saturday at Ohio Stadium.

Key player: Barkley rushed seven times for 41 yards and a touchdown. He also caught three passes for 23 yards.

Top play: In addition to Barkley's kickoff return, he scored on a 36-yard run to give Penn State its biggest lead, 21-3.

Barrett's day: Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett completed 13 of 17 passes for 96 yards. He threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin in the second quarter to cut Penn State's lead to 21-10.

Weber's score: Mike Weber's 2-yard run with 4:56 left in the half was the final score before halftime. He rushed seven times for 21 yards.

Big turnover: Parris Campbell lost a fumble on Ohio State's first drive, following the kickoff return touchdown. Penn State turned that into a 13-yard touchdown pass by Trace McSorley to DaeSean Hamilton, giving it a 14-0 lead.
