The Badin High School Athletic Hall of Fame will add five athletes on Saturday, April 29, at the Pfirman Family Activity Center.

The schedule for the induction ceremony will include mass at 5:15 p.m., refreshments at 6, dinner at 7 and the program at 7:45 p.m.

“These are always difficult but rewarding decisions to honor some of the past outstanding athletes who have represented Badin and our predecessor schools, Hamilton Catholic and Notre Dame high schools,” said Dean Wright, chair of the Hall of Fame committee. “There are so many excellent athletes to choose from. The legacy of sports at our schools is very strong, and these athletes are a big part of that legacy.”

The five inductees will be Jim Rose from the Badin Class of 1968 (basketball), Randy Becker ’74 (football), Jesse Weisbrod ’93 (basketball, soccer, softball), Nick Yordy ’97 (football, baseball) and Matt Broermann ’99 (basketball).

The family of Mr. and Mrs. Max Kiep will be honored as the Legacy Family for all they have contributed to athletics at Badin. Max Kiep is a 1960 graduate of Hamilton Catholic, and his wife, the former Carol Baumann, is a 1960 graduate of Notre Dame.

The evening will include a tribute to Hall of Fame football coach Terry Malone ’52, who passed away in January at the age of 83. Malone was the winningest coach in the state of Ohio when he retired following the 2003 season, winning 360 games in 46 years and the 1990 Division III state championship.

Reservations for the Hall of Fame night are $35 and may be obtained by contacting Sharon Adams at (513) 863-3993, Ext. 113, or Sadams@BadinHS.org. Children 12-and-under are admitted for $20.
