WORTH THE DRIVE: Calling all ‘80s, ‘90s kids! New Discovery Zone now open

More likely than not, if you were a child during the ‘80s and ‘90s, you at least have somewhat of a recollection of having endless fun at a Discovery Zone. Luckily, for those who long to return to the days of their youth, a brand new Discovery Zone is now open in Cincinnati.

According to Discovery Zone’s Facebook page, the brand new entertainment center opened on Friday, Feb. 7. The Discovery Zone is located inside of the EastGate Mall in Cincinnati, at 4601 Eastgate Blvd.

If you’re too young to have explored Discovery Zone’s games, elaborate mazes and playing structures (or your parents were perhaps wary of the semi-dangerous roller slides and ball pits), these centers served as large entertainment areas for young children. In 1999, the brand disappeared and made way for their rival, Chuck E. Cheese, to take over that portion of the entertainment industry.

Thankfully, the new Discovery Zone is furnished with safer playing structures (for one, they swapped the ball pits for nice, soft foam pits) and party rooms are still available to reserve for large groups, just like the good ol’ days. Party packages will be available for all groups.
