“It’s been great. I am excited to get started — super excited,” Peters said.
The restaurant will employ about a dozen and will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
The business is located in a 2,000-square-foot space that formerly held Amaze Salon and Piercology tattoo and piercing shop.
Formerly purple on the outside, the building color has been changed to gray and the Pita Pit signs are now hanging.

Peters said the opening is a few weeks behind schedule because the construction process did not go as quickly as anticipated.
“(Customers) are excited to get going,” Peters said. “I’ve had a lot of people stop in during construction (and ask questions).”
The business will specialize in fresh and healthy pita sandwiches, including Pita Pit’s Dagwood, Gyro, Souvlaki, Philly, Baja Chicken Bacon Ranch, Chicken Pesto, Boom Boom Black Bean (and the vegetarian) vegan hummus sandwiches.

He anticipates opening Monday, Jan. 28 or Monday, Feb. 4.
As part of a grand opening celebration, the Englewood resident says pitas will be sold for $5 the Friday that follows the opening day.
The first 100 students with college IDs will get free pitas that Saturday, he said.
“We (Pita Pit) usually open on a Monday and have grand open on Friday or Saturday,” the 22-year-old, the chain’s youngest franchise holder, said.
The restaurant will open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The restaurant will offer catering and late-night delivery.
Peters plans to start hiring for the restaurant after Christmas. He anticipates ultimately having about 15 employees.
Peters said the permitting process delayed his plans to open earlier.

There is a gluten-free wrap option.
Many Pita Pits set up shop around colleges, Peters said, noting that about 65 percent of the chain’s customers are between ages 18 and 23.
He said the location near Miami Valley Hospital and the University of Dayton is ideal.
