Food truck owner Beth Sparks' was featured in a recent article in Ohio Magazine, "A Brew Twist."

Now, foodies across the whole state will get to know something we in Dayton have known for a while: how delicious and unique The Drunken Waffle truly is to the food truck scene.

The article focuses on Sparks’ food truck journey, from ideation to creation.

Here’s an excerpt:

Sparks began experimenting with recipes to re-create [chicken and waffles] but added her own twist. You see, these aren't just any waffles. Sparks uses beer from local craft breweries in place of milk in her batter, an idea she had from her very first waffle attempts. Today, Sparks' The Drunken Waffle food truck offers an array of bizarre but delicious sandwiches that use her beer-infused waffles in place of bread.

The Drunken Waffle utilizes local beer from Toxic Brew Co. as well as Middletown's FigLeaf Brewing Co. and Dayton's Eudora Brewing Co. in their batter to make killer waffle sandwiches like The War PigThe Bocheeseian Rhapsody and The Lonely Hearts Club.

So, when coming up with new recipes, what comes first -- the sandwich or the beer?
