Regula, Autumn Rose
Autumn Rose Regula was a beam of light with an infectious spirit, always generous with her quick wit and love.
Autumn Rose Regula, 9, passed away peacefully on a beautiful sunny morning surrounded by her family on Saturday, Feb. 1st. A service and celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 9th; details are below.
Autumn was born on May 16, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Lucas and Allison Regula. When Autumn was four years old, she was diagnosed with a rare pediatric brain cancer. Autumn surpassed all odds and expectations, living for five years.
Living doesn't really describe Autumn's time here on Earth. Autumn was a force and a light. She noticed everything. She was an instant judge of character. She told people exactly how she felt. She loved with her whole heart. She gave people her full attention. Rainbows followed her wherever she went.
In her nine years, Autumn lived in three states. She loved cookbooks and was a meticulous party planner. She was an active member of 4-H; her first-year projects made it to the Ohio State Fair where she earned purple ribbons. She was an avid collector of all things shiny, stuffed animals and American Girl dolls. She loved singing along with her favorite songs, musicals and movies. She was a proud big sister to Atlas and Iris.
Autumn was blessed with the best parents and support system. She had two exceptional fathers. Her Daddy Lucas became her guardian angel in 2019. Autumn inherited Lucas's out-going spirit, quick wit, strong will and tenacity. We are certain Daddy Lucas was the first to greet Autumn in heaven. Autumn's Daddy Chad was a steady stream of strength, unconditional love and spontaneity. Their love was pure and true. From Allison, Autumn inherited bravery and an unwavering faith that allowed Autumn to embrace each new challenge as just part of the journey.
Autumn made a lasting impact on all who knew her. She understood better than most adults what was important in life. She connected with everyone she met. She made everyone feel like they were her favorite. Her ability to love and her joy for life, in spite of all of her obstacles, continues to be an inspiration. We are changed forever in knowing Autumn and rejoice in knowing she now flies with her own wings.
Autumn is survived by her parents Allison and Chad; brother Atlas and sister Iris; grandparents Robert and Peggy Agle, Rick and Deb Regula; great grandparents Betty Baird, June Sawmiller and Raymond "Dick" Regula; many aunts, uncles, cousins and various extended family members and friends who became family.
A service will be held on Sunday, March 9th at 11:00 am with a celebration of life to follow from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Both will be child-friendly and will be held at the Clark County Fairgrounds Mercantile Building, 4401 S. Charleston Pike, Springfield, Ohio 45502. The family requests attendees honor Autumn by wearing Autumn apparel or an Autumn-inspired outfit (the more rainbows, tie-dye, glitter, and crystals the better).
Memorial contributions can be made to A Special Wish Foundation of SW Ohio, 741 Valley St, Dayton, OH 45404 or Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation, PO Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43216-6810 (please include a note indicating donation is for Dr. Fouladi's connect studies research in honor of Autumn Regula). The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Fouladi and her team for their exquisite love, care and enduring support during Autumn's journey.
