BRAY, Benny J.

93, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Southbrook Care Center comforted by his family and friends. He was born April 21, 1928, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Benjamin F. and Zenna (Hall-Stewart) Bray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy E.

(Holland) Bray, whom he

married June 6, 1953; sisters, Mary "Bunny" Sutton, Thelma Coleman and Ruby Bray and son-in-law, Darryl L. Herring. Benny is survived by his two children, Benny L. (Wendy) Bray of Green Bay, WI, and Tonya D. Herring of Springfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Adrian Bray, Leroy Bray, Ashley Bray and

Benny (Lecreatia) Bray; great-grandchildren, SeRaye Bray, Xenna Bray, Beilyn Bray, Benny Bray and Benson Bray; special nieces, Marcey Langford and Yvonne "Kitty" Butler and several other nieces and nephews. Benny attended Springfield High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy in 1945 where he served for 4 years. He was employed by Wright-

Patterson Air Force Base, the United States Postal Service and International Harvester. Benny was a Mason and a Shriner and enjoyed bowling, fishing, dancing and playing cards. He loved his family, loved life and REALLY loved to "socialize" with friends. Friends and neighbors called him, "Everyday Benny Bray"! His response would be "Benny Bray...Everyday"! He never met a stranger. In his last years, he was known as the "greeter" at Southbrook and was even crowned "King of Southbrook". Visitation is Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. in Greater Grace Temple. Burial will be Monday, November 22, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. in Dayton National Cemetery with military honors.
