Austin Hensley, 18, died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office. A fellow student was charged with his shooting, and a third student was charged with stealing a gun from his father.

7. 2 dead in suspected Butler County murder-suicide
The Butler County sheriff’s office believes an incident involving two killed in shootings in Hanover Twp. was a murder-suicide. Officials responded to the 3100 block of Morman Road at about 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 on the report of a shooting, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. They found two people in the garage with gunshot wounds.

A father and son were arrested on Saturday as the two “persons deemed major players in drug trafficking,” according to Hamilton Police Chief Craig Bucheit, who laid out the details of the investigation that involved multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

A Liberty Twp. eighth grader reported missing was found safe, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department. The 14-year-old was found Jan. 9 hiding under a bed at a residence in Lakota Pointe apartments, said Lt. Rick Bucheit.
