Troopers seize fake Visa credit cards in stop

Troopers seized fake credit cards Tuesday night after stopping a car that skipped paying a toll on the Ohio Turnpike.

When troopers stopped the car about 9:40 p.m. on the turnpike in Wood County, they noticed a marijuana odor coming from the car. When they searched the vehicle, they found 34 fraudulent Visa credit cards, the Ohio State Highway Patrol posted to website and Facebook page on Thursday.

The suspects, Channon D. Turner, 27, and LaMonte Joyner, 19, were incarcerated in the Wood County Justice Center in Bowling Green. Both were charged with forgery, a fifth-degree felony, according to the patrol.

Turner was no longer listed as a jail inmate, but Joyner tonight remained held on $20,000 bond and is next due in court on Tuesday, according to online court records.
