Report: The Top 5 Most “American-Made” Cars in 2020

If you want to support American-made products, buying a vehicle produced in the USA is a great way to start. But you may be wondering what “American-made” means.

Cars.com recently released its American-Made Index (AMI), which shows just how "made in the USA" some vehicles really are.

To come up with its list, Cars.com says it used five primary factors:
  • Final assembly location
  • Percentage of U.S. and/or Canadian parts
  • Origin country for available engines
  • Origin country for available transmissions
  • U.S. manufacturing workers relative to the automaker's footprint
