Crews battled a fire at the former Middletown Paperboard building on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020. The fire was reported at about 6:40 a.m. in the vacant building known to be frequented by homeless people, said Middletown fire Chief Paul Lolli. NICK GRAHAM / STAFF
