Doug Borgert writes: "Too many people are being killed and injured due to texting while driving. My wife was rear-ended twice while sitting at a traffic light by teenagers who were texting. I hope someday there will be a state and federal law making texting while driving a criminal act. There should be a federal law requiring cars sold in the United States to carry a jamming device that would disable all cell phones while the car is in the "Drive" mode. As an electrical engineer, I am fairly confident this would only add an additional $10 to the cost of the vehicle, if mass-produced."
