I have to laugh when I read the call in Community Voice about the handicapped cards. I have been called "pathetic" because I have a handicapped card. To look at me, you might not think there's anything wrong with me but I have a very bad back and two bad knees. ... So looks are quite deceiving and — unless you really know that person who has that handicapped card — I don't think you should be judging people. ...
I was looking through the classified ads in the Hamilton JournalNews and I can't believe all the ads that have pets for sale. I've had dogs and bred them before, but I had a kennel license. I think these people who are breeding their pets and are having litters of puppies and kittens either need to be fined or purchase a breeder's license of some sort. Put the cost at $100 or more for each litter and the fines or fees should go to the animal adoption center. Something has to be done to stop all this. Have the animals fixed or don't have any, period.
I read where the Hamilton JournalNews' print circulation has dropped. Well, it's no wonder. You don't put anything in the paper that's interesting anymore and then you (say) if you want to see more, look online. I have subscribed to the Hamilton JournalNews for 46 years. ... Even when I have been offered other papers at a better price, I have always stuck with the JournalNews. But how many people over 60 know how to operate computers? Not as many as the young people. Maybe if you put more in the paper, there would be more circulation. ...
