I really don't want to see John Boehner weeping as Speaker of the House of Representatives, as he pounds the gavel. Was he weeping as he passed out the tobacco checks on the floor or was he having a good time, laughing?
Regarding the caller who said the city and county people make way too much money: Obviously there is a lot of jealousy going on with people thinking that people who work for the city automatically have an easy go of it. The people at the bottom of the totem pole of the city are not the people making the money; it's the people up on top who make the big money. Before someone starts talking, they should really think about what they are saying before they say it. The guys on the bottom have given concession after concession. They aren't making ends meet. ...
I would like to know — who could have hit a little Jack Russell terrier — headed westbound on Washington Boulevard, between Westover Court and Eaton Avenue about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 22 — and not have stopped? They obviously had to know they hit the dog. Luckily, the very nice neighbors in the area looked after the dog while it was lying there bleeding. Someone should be a little nicer and stop when they hit animals. They couldn't have been in that big of a rush that they couldn't stop and help a poor helpless animal.
