Who is still in the Democratic race for president?

Vice President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he would not run for the Democratic nomination for president. With the departure of Jim Webb -- he is said to be considering a run for the office as an Independent -- that leaves four major candidates in the race.

Here is a look at the candidates who are seeking the Democratic party nomination for president.

Lincoln Chafee

Age: 62

Lincoln Chafee, the former governor of Rhode Island, is also a former member of the Republican Party and was once an Independent. He served seven years in the U.S. Senate, being appointed to fill the seat of his late father, John Chafee. While in the Senate, Chafee was the only Republican to vote against authorizing military action in Iraq in 2002, and was one of the “Gang of 14” who opposed George Bush’s tax cuts. He supports marriage equality and a woman’s right to choose. According to Crowdpac, a for-profit, nonpartisan voter education website, Chafee is the least liberal Democrat in the race. Chafee is married and has three children.

Hillary Clinton

She favors a woman’s right to choose, and voted no on banning partial birth abortions. She supports same-sex marriage. Crowdpac puts her as the third most liberal Democratic presidential candidate. She is married to former President Bill Clinton and has one daughter.
