TSA worker accused of forcing woman to expose herself during security screening

A former Transportation Security Administration agent is accused of tricking a woman into exposing herself, citing a security issue.

Johnathon Lomeli was a TSA agent at Los Angeles International Airport, The Associated Press reported.

First, Attorney General Xavier Becerra said Lomeli told the woman he needed to look inside her bra to make sure she wasn't hiding anything. Then Becerra said Lomeli told the woman she had to pull her pants out at the waist so he could see down, the AP reported.

The incident allegedly happened June 10, 2019, KCBS reported.

Lomeli is also accused of telling the woman that additional screening would be done in a private room, but then when they were in an elevator, he allegedly told her she could have the screening done at that location.

The attorney general said that Lomeli told the woman to lift her shirt to show that she was not hiding anything, then proceeded to comment on her body before she was allowed to leave, the AP reported.

The TSA alerted the FBI about the allegations against Lomeli, who was fired, the AP reported.

LAX served 88.1 million passengers in 2019, KCBS reported.
